Benefits of Thermoelectrics
Peltier Coolers have several advantages over alternate cooling technologies:
  • Solid-state construction means no moving parts resulting in higher reliability.
  • Flexible to mount in any orientation.
  • Thermoelectric modules manage to cool devices down to well below ambient. They can reach colder temperatures, down to minus 100 °C by using a multistage thermoelectric module in a vacuum environment.
  • Thermoelectrics can heat and cool by simply reversing the polarity, which changes the direction of heat transfer. This results in a very precise temperature control, where up to  ±0.01 °C can be maintained under steady-state conditions.
  • In heating mode, peltier coolers are much more efficient than conventional resistant heaters. This is because they can use the input power to generate heat plus the heat caused by the heat pumping action.
  • Peltier coolers are environmentally friendly because they use no CFCs and electrical noise is minimal.
  • Thermoelectric modules can also work as energy harvesters, where waste heat becomes output DC power.

Peltier Elements Annular Series

Annular Series

The Annular Series includes the SH and RH themoelectric modules. The SH series is an annular-style thermoelectric module provided with a center hole to accommodate light protrusion for optics, mechanical fastening or temperature probe. The RH Series is an annular thermoelectric module which is round in shape and also contains a center hole.

The Annular Series is available in numerous configurations and geometric shapes. The SH Series is assembled with Bismuth Telluride semiconductor material and thermally conductive Aluminum Oxide ceramics to fit in applications with high current and large heat-pumping. For all SH and RH Series modules, wire is stranded, 114 mm (4.5 in.) long and PVC insulated.

CP Series

This type of peltier module is considered as the standard in the thermoelectric industry. The high-performance and highly reliable CP Series has the broadest model range, offering numerous heat pumping capacities, geometric shapes, and input power ranges. Assembled with Bismuth Telluride semiconductor material and thermally conductive Aluminum Oxide ceramics, the CP Series is designed for higher current and large heat-pumping applications. For all CP Series modules, wire is stranded, 114 mm (4.5 in.) long and PVC insulated.

HiTemp ET Series

The HiTemp ET Series is the optimum solution to protect critical devices and assemblies in high current and temperature environments. These peltier coolers have a capacity of more than 338 Watts, offering active cooling in temperatures from 80 to 150° C, all in a compact form factor. The HiTemp ET Series delivers temperature stability to ensure maximum performance in challenging environments including applications using optical transceivers, LIDAR, DLP and CMOS technologies. The HiTemp ET Series can achieve temperature control of ±0.01°C.

PC Series

The PowerCycling Series are used in applications which require thermal cycling between different temperature set points. Therefore, these peltier coolers are ideal in medical and laboratory equipment, which require rapid temperature changes. The module is specially designed to reduce the amount of stress induced on the Thermoelectric elements during operation. The PC Series has been tested to withstand more than 1M cycles without degradation in performance. The thermoelectric modules are assembled with Bismuth Telluride semiconductor material and thermally conductive Aluminum Oxide ceramics.

PolarTec™ Series

The PolarTEC™ Series is a porch-style peltier cooler. The extended edge of the hot side ceramic allows for a strong lead attachment when thermoelectric modules are mounted into an array. This Series is available in 4, 6 and 8 Amp configurations and is ideal for high volume production. Using Bismuth Telluride semiconductor material and thermally conductive Aluminum Oxide ceramics, the PolarTEC™ Series is designed for higher current and larger heat-pumping applications. For all PolarTEC™ Series modules, wire is stranded, 152 mm (6.0 in.) long and PVC insulated.

Thermoelectric Modules for telecom and phototronics

OptoTec™ Series

The OptoTEC™ Series is a range of miniature peltier cooler. They are used to stabilize the temperature of sensitive optical components, most frequently in telecom applications and photonics industries.

The OptoTEC™ Series comes in multiple configurations and surface finishing options. Assembled with Bismuth Telluride semiconductor material and thermally conductive Aluminum Oxide ceramics, the OptoTEC™ Series is suitable for lower current and lower heat-pumping applications. Custom designs are available to select metallization, pretinning, ceramic patterns and solder posts, however MOQ applies. Internal solder construction can be read from the prefix of the part description: 138°C (OT), 232°C (ET) and 271°C (HOT).  For all OptoTEC™ Series modules, wire is solid, 57 mm (2.25 in.) long and un-insulated.

UltraTec™ Series

The UltraTEC™ Series is a high heat flux density peltier cooler. The module can achieve a higher heat pumping capacity compared to single stage thermoelectric modules due to the large number of semiconductor couples. This product line is offered in multiple configurations and is designed for applications that demand higher cooling capacities on limited space. The thermoelectric modules are assembled with Bismuth Telluride semiconductor material and thermally conductive Aluminum Oxide ceramics, making them ideal for higher current and larger heat-pumping applications. For all UltraTEC™ Series modules, wire is stranded, 152 mm (6.0 in.) long or 200 mm (8.0 in.) and PVC insulated.

Thermoelectric Modules for applications demanding cold temperatures

ZT Series

The ZT Series thermoelectric module is assembled with premium Bismuth Telluride semiconductor material that achieves a higher temperature differential than standard single stage modules. Assembled with top grade Bismuth Telluride semiconductor material and thermally conductive Aluminum Oxide ceramics, the ZT Series is ideal for higher current and larger heat-pumping applications that require colder temperatures. This product line is available in multiple configurations and for all ZT Series modules, wire is stranded, 200 mm (8.0 in.) and PVC insulated.

Multistage Thermoelectric Modules Peltier Elements

MS Series

The Multistage (MS) Series of thermoelectric modules offers the highest temperature differential (ΔT), up to 131°C. This Series can achieve colder temperatures than single stage thermoelectric modules. The Multistage (MS) Series comes in numerous temperature differentials, heat pumping capacities and geometric shapes. It is designed for higher current and lower heat-pumping applications and is ideal for applications operating in a room temperature environment. Custom designs are available upon request, however MOQ applies.
